Hi everyone, Welcome to the beginner class of the Modern MBA by Butterfly Effect Show (hosted by Sathyvelu Kunashegaran)

Before we start the lecture series, I would like to talk about why do you need to understand business even if you have no aspirations to ever be a business person.

I know a lot of y’all out there are thinking that “I do not want to ever start my own business. I have no aspirations of being a businessman or businesswoman. So, why do I have to waste time by learning anything about business?”

This is a very good question.

I think about business like learning how to swim. You can continue your life without learning how to swim. That is definitely possible. You even lead a happy life without it.

But if you know how to swim, you get to experience and do things that people who do not know how to swim can. Just like learning to swim, someday it will save your life.

And in the case of learning about the inner-workings of businesses, you’ll get to advance career faster or it will teach you to make better decisions in your day-to-day job.
